Camino5 for Agencies
For agencies · AI search & entity development

The agency AI describes
is not the agency
you run today.

Clients now shortlist partners by asking ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity. Those tools answer from old press, stale directories, and third-party descriptions, so they describe an earlier version of you. We fix the record, then build the authority that keeps it current.

Est. 2020 · Los Angeles & global Two partners · no account layer 90-day initial engagement
PromptTell me about [your agency]. Who do they work with and what are they known for?
[Your agency] is a boutique branding studio founded to help early-stage startups launch. It is best known for identity work for consumer brands from around 2014 to 2016 and operates from a small studio with a team of about a dozen. Clients have included venture-backed companies. The agency was acquired in 2021.
Sources the answer leaned on: a 2015 press profile · a Crunchbase entry last edited in 2019 · a design-directory listing · one review that belongs to a similarly named firm.
Illustrative. We run this read on your actual name before the first call.
The situation

You spend your days building visibility for clients. Nobody is doing it for you.

Most agency websites were built for the brand, not for machines. That is the right call for a homepage. It also means the structural signals AI tools and search engines read were never put in place, and the homepage is the last thing anyone wants touched.

Large language models lean on whatever is most consistent and most repeated: the case studies from your breakout years, a Crunchbase entry from two pivots ago, award listings, directory blurbs, a stray Reddit thread. When those sources disagree or go quiet, the tools reuse stale details or invent new ones.

Meanwhile the way clients find agencies has changed. Search traffic is down across most categories while qualified intent is up. Fewer visits, more of them from people who are already deciding. We call it the crocodile trend. It means every visit carries more weight, and so does every sentence an AI tool says about you.

This is less a problem than a missed opportunity. The agencies leaning into it now will be the ones described accurately, and first.

  • Press

Coverage from the launch years outranks the repositioning you finished last quarter.

  • Directories

Crunchbase, Clutch, and awards pages each describe a slightly different agency.

  • Your site

Beautiful, and structurally silent: no schema, no entity signals, no answer-shaped content.

  • Forums

One thread from one bad week is still the fourth result for your name.

  • Reviews

A similarly named firm's one-star review, attributed to you by a model that cannot tell you apart.

Outcomes

The same system we run for brands, pointed at your name.

Camino5 engagements are measured on citation share, organic demand, and qualified pipeline. For an agency, the first number is the one that matters: how often, and how accurately, the machines name you.

The work

Three goals. One engagement.

Accuracy first, because everything else compounds on top of it. Then authority, so the story the machines read is yours. Then visibility, in the places clients now look before they ever reach your site.

01 / Accuracy

Entity development

Be described as who you are now.

We baseline how ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google describe you today, then do the behind-the-scenes work that tells the tools who you are. External validation is brought into agreement so third parties describe the current agency in the current language.

  • Entity and representation baseline across the major tools
  • External validation audit: Crunchbase, awards, directories, third-party descriptions
  • Entity profile construction, no visual site changes required to begin
  • Awards and case-study structures specified to your brand bar
02 / Authority

Connected thought leadership

One point of view, every surface.

A point of view on your site, placements in industry press, and your social channels reinforcing one story, so every piece strengthens the entity the machines read. We study the client types worth reaching, shortlist topics, and hand your team outlines and editorial direction. Your team writes.

  • Roughly ten candidate topics narrowed to the three or four that fit
  • Outlines, subject-matter interviews where useful, placement direction
  • Publisher intelligence: which outlets are indexed, how, and whether crawlers get in
  • A brand, tone, and search knowledge base you own after the engagement
03 / Visibility

Both kinds of search

Be the answer, not just the result.

Technical and AEO foundations so your owned channels present you properly to people and to agents. Keyword, topical, and prompt research resolving into one strategy, measured on dashboards you own.

  • Technical audit: crawlability, indexation, architecture, schema, speed
  • AEO foundation: LLMS.txt, AI crawler access, answer-structured content, entity alignment
  • Keyword, topical, and prompt research; competitor reads; search personas
  • Page-level copy briefs for people and for agentic consumption
The first 90 days

Foundation, build, growth.

Three stages, one working plan. Entity work draws on external validation rather than waiting on new content to rank, so early effects typically begin to show in weeks three to four.

Stage 1 · Weeks 1 to 2

Foundation

Same numbers, day one.

Kickoff, access, and the baseline. Tracking and dashboards go up first so both teams read the same figures from the start.

  • Objectives, KPIs, positioning story
  • Entity and representation baseline
  • External validation audit
  • Your ranked roadmap, by priority and effort
Stage 2 · Weeks 3 to 6

Build

The structural work.

Entity profile, validation alignment, technical and AEO foundations, and the knowledge base that lets us move quickly without drifting off brand.

  • Entity profile construction and validation alignment
  • Technical fixes specified for your team to implement
  • AEO and SEO research resolved into one strategy
  • Copy direction, case-study and awards frameworks
Stage 3 · Weeks 7 to 12

Growth

The pieces become an ecosystem.

Thought leadership moves from strategy to execution on a three-week sprint cycle. At week 10 we step back together and shape months three through nine on real data rather than assumptions.

  • Topics, outlines, editorial direction; your team writes
  • Placement direction across press, site, and social
  • Continued optimization against KPIs
  • Week-10 checkpoint and the 90-day review

The 90-day view is a working plan, not a fixed one. We adjust pacing and emphasis to your priorities, your team's capacity, and what the baseline shows.

Foundation work is different in kind from what follows. At week 10 the number may go down or it may go up. We would rather say that now than surprise you later.

Built for how agencies work

Strategy and direction from us. The pen stays with you.

We are the search and AI layer behind agencies, not an alternative to them. Six commitments, written into every engagement.

The homepage belongs to your brand.

We work around it, not on it. Entity work happens behind the scenes, and everything we specify for the site is built to your brand standard, not the algorithm's.

Your team keeps the pen.

Topics, outlines, interviews, and direction from us. Writing, voice, design, and publishing from you. We review for search and AI lift only, never for brand or creative.

No term dump.

You will not receive a spreadsheet of keywords and a handshake. You get a ranked roadmap, two recorded working sessions a month, and a shared knowledge base holding your voice and your search intelligence.

Your data stays yours.

Everything anchors in Google Analytics and Search Console, which you own. Your history and your baseline stay with you, and reporting continues without a gap if we ever part ways.

We do not compete with you.

Camino5 does not do brand, creative, design, or content production. Your clients stay yours, your work stays yours.

A person reviews everything.

We use AI in research, analysis, and drafting, and we say so. Every deliverable is reviewed and edited by a person at Camino5 before it reaches you.

Client results

Don't take our word for it. Take theirs.

In one year they 4×'d our organic sales-qualified leads — while taking the stress off my shoulders.

Fit

Who this is for.

A good fit

  • Independent brand, creative, design, PR, and digital agencies with real work behind them and a reputation that has moved faster than the record.
  • Agencies repositioning, moving upmarket, or standing up a communications function that needs search and AI to carry the new story.
  • Leadership teams who have typed the agency's name into an AI tool and did not recognize the answer.
  • Teams who want real collaboration and guidance, and will do the writing so every word is theirs.

Not a fit

  • Agencies looking for a keyword list to hand to a junior.
  • Agencies that want volume content published under their name.
  • Agencies that need us to write in their voice. Production can be scoped separately, but this engagement is built so your team's work lands harder, not so it is replaced.
Questions agencies ask

Before the call.

Will this change how our site looks?

No. Entity work is structural and happens behind the scenes, so nothing visual changes to begin. Where we recommend additions, such as a case-studies architecture or an awards section, we specify structure, content, and markup, and your team designs and builds it to your standard.

Do we have to publish SEO content?

No. Thought leadership in this engagement means content that serves the reader, the brand, and the machines at once, never filler. We shortlist topics and deliver outlines and direction. Your team writes it, in your voice, and decides what ships.

How long before we see movement?

Entity effects typically begin to show in weeks three to four, sometimes faster, depending on the state of your external validation sources. Visibility in AI search compounds over the following months. The initial term is three months, designed to build the foundation, show real movement, and give us both the data to decide what comes next.

Which tools do you use, and what happens to them afterward?

We run more than one platform rather than trusting a single read: an industry-standard toolset, currently Semrush and Ahrefs, alongside a dedicated AI-search platform, averaged to one baseline. During the engagement you have full access to our internal tools. The tools remain ours to maintain. What you keep is what they produce: the query maps, the research, the baseline, and the knowledge base.

Will this make us look over-optimized?

No. Everything we specify is built to your brand bar. Optimized content should read naturally and sound like you; if it does not, it is not finished.

Why not hire someone in-house?

A hire gives you one person's time. You would still need the strategy for them to execute, the measurement stack, and the entity work, which is the part that is new. This is scoped as a defined engagement rather than a permanent line, and the systems stay with you at the end. That is why it is built on Search Console rather than anything of ours.

How are engagements structured?

Project-based, not hourly. The initial term is three months staged as foundation, build, and growth, with one kickoff, two working sessions a month, monthly reporting, and a checkpoint at week 10 to shape what months three through nine look like. Scope scales to your priorities. We scope it with you on the call.
